Nebraska Hunts Offered

Eastern Colorado Outdoors is Now Offering Hunts in Wauneta, NE

Deadhead Found In Nebraska Sandhills While Fencing

Eastern Colorado Outdoors is Now Offering Hunts in Wauneta, NE

Eastern Colorado Outdoors is now offering hunts near Wauneta, NE.  My family works on a ranch right out of Wauneta that is 35,000 acres of great hunting habitat.  These hunts will be a little different than the Colorado based hunts.  Nebraska hunts will be more physically demanding based off of the terrain.  Habitat ranges anywhere from sandhill, to rocky bluffs, to marshy drainages.

Nebraska Mule Deer Hunts

Nebraska Mule Deer Hunts

Nebraska mule deer hunts will offer a wide variety of hunting styles.  The habitat allows for high percentage spot and stalk hunts in the steep hills all around Wauneta.  There is also plentiful chances to harvest a deer from a tree stand or blind on a field if that is your preferred method.  Hunts will vary a lot depending on how you would like to pursue your animal, but the terrain and odds are great here.  These deer grow to generous sizes due to their unique diets.  A lot like the deer in Colorado, deer in this part of Nebraska live in fields of crops with the best nutrients on the face of the earth.

Nebraska Whitetail Hunts

Nebraska Whitetail Hunts

Whitetails are a very hard species to hunt on the plains.  Their natural temperament and senses are very keen.  Hunting a whitetail on the plains of Eastern Colorado with a bow is quite a feat.  Wauneta provides better opportunity at killing a big mature whitetail.  There are dense trees along the Frenchman creek and all of the tributaries branching out.  Tree stands hunting would be ideal in these places.  Deer a lot of times will run trails during the rut.  Blind hunting alfalfa pivots will also be an option here.  We all know what kind of a honey hole alfalfa holds with whitetail.

Bird Hunting

Spring turkey season didnt exactly start out how we thought it would this season. We were not seeing birds anywhere. We met up with Jim Hubbard with Eastern Colorado Outdoors and our luck changed drastically. As my brother and I drove home with two birds

Bird Hunting

We are now offering bird hunting services.  Nebraska has, and always will hold a hidden gem for bird hunters.  When I worked in the sandhills as I went through college in Nebraska, I was awakened almost every morning by the yard pheasants cackling.  Not many people are familiar with rural Nebraska.  Nebraska offers beautiful rolling hills with natural grasses that are 4 feet tall.  Pheasants, and grouse run wild.  Waterfowl hunting is also a prime opportunity here.   Birds migrate through the hundreds of thousands of small sandhill lakes.  In college I recall watching lakes that were around a half mile in diameter all but covered in ducks, geese, swans, teal, and more that I can't name.

Coyote Hunts

Coyote, Raccoon, and Bobcat Hunts

Eastern Colorado offers a very unique opportunity for hunters at an extremely affordable rate.  Predator hunts a lot of times consider walking out to a spot and setting up a call and waiting and watching for them to come in.   Predators will come all the way in to on top of your legs if you set up right.  Everyone should try this at least once.  The hunt is an adrenaline rush especially for new hunters.  This would also be a great option for a father son hunt.
